DCC Mini Pupillage Open Day - Applications now open
Deans Court is delighted to announce its 2025 mini-pupillage day will take place on 4th October.
Applications close on Friday 19th September 2025 at 2pm
Successful candidates will undertake various written and oral exercises in a workshop environment with the opportunity for feedback from established practitioners and the chance to discuss careers at the Bar.
In our experience this event is heavily oversubscribed and given the itinerary of the day places are strictly limited. The aim of the day is to give those who are considering applying for pupillage in the near future a unique insight into the practicalities of the job as well as life at the Bar in general.
Candidates will be provided with preparatory work prior to the commencement of the event and are expected to attend having prepared thoroughly.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate a strong CV including academic achievement.
** Applications from those who have completed a Mini Pupillage with Chambers, or have been unsuccessful in previous applications are encouraged to apply. This application is separate to a normal Mini-Pupillage application**
Why Should I apply and What should I expect?
The mini-pupillage event is designed to provide those interested but not necessarily committed to a career at the Bar, with an insight into Chambers, the life of a barrister as well as the challenges and rewards the role brings.
The Bar offers a tough but rewarding role, so we aim to challenge you. The Bar tests individual’s intellect, personal maturity and judgement. We aim to do this in a friendly way, but if you dislike the idea of challenging yourself, the Bar is unlikely to be the right career choice for you.
How to Apply
Please send your CV in word format only, along with a 100 word cover letter on why you would like to attend, to Alex Jenkinson at ajenkinson@deanscourt.co.uk
All data contained within applications is subject to Chambers’ GDPR compliance policy.
All applications must contain an academic referee together with contact details for the same including an email address.
All successful applicants are required to bring photographic ID on the day for security purposes.
