David Boyle appointed Visiting Professor by Indian University
David Boyle is delighted, and hugely honoured, to have been approved as a Visiting Professor by the Academic Council of Dr B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat (India) (www.dbranlu.ac.in).
The National Law Universities have been continuously ranked as India’s most prestigious and premier law schools and were created with the express intent of modernising and improving legal education in India, providing integrated and diversified legal education with students being able to study Law alongside oth
er areas of study, allowing for a much broader tertiary education. DBRANLU is the 23rd, and most recently
established, such University, with a commitment to taking 25% of its students from Haryana state.
The Academic Council of DBRANLU has recently approved a list of 35 Visiting Professors including several current and former Justices of the Supreme Courts of India and Sri Lanka, 16 professors including Prof. B.T. Kaul (former professor of the University of Delhi), Prof. Marc Galenter (Professor Emeritus, University of Wisconsin Law School), and Prof. Simon Chesterman (David Marshall Professor and Vice Provost, National University of Singapore), and a number of other academics and lawyers, a full list of which is to be found here - DRBRANLU VP List 2022
Taking advantage of the widespread use of remote learning during the pandemic, Mr Boyle has been able to deliver lectures on a wide variety of topics, but the University were particularly interested in his teaching of Forensic Thinking, providing students with the mental tools for problem-solving and advocacy in practice, notwithstanding that they are studying and qualifying under a different legal system with very different demands. He is looking forward to a long and successful working relationship with the University, helping to develop the next generation of Indian lawyers.
