Colette Renton prosecutes warehouse operator for fire safety offences
Colette Renton was instructed by Leicester Fire and Rescue Service to prosecute the operator of a warehouse for fire safety offences spanning a two year period. The Defendant company and director had entirely failed to risk assess the premises, with risks including 3 out of 4 unsafe/locked fire exits, blocked aisles and malfunctioning fire detection equipment. Following trial, the Defendants were assessed as attracting a high level of culpability and the Director received a suspended custodial sentence.
