Lewis Power QC represents British teenager in relation to falsely accusing 12 Israelis of gang-rape
Lewis Power QC represents British teenager in relation to falsely accusing 12 Israelis of gang-rape.
The 19-year-old from Derbyshire was given a four-month suspended sentence for her count of 'public mischief' following the events of July 17 in an Aiya Napa hotel room. She is finally returning home to the UK after being detained in Cyprus for the last 6 months.
Following the sentence, Mr Power stated:
"We will be seeking an expedited appeal to the Supreme Court of Cyprus and we will also be considering going to the European Court of Human Rights. We do not feel we have had justice in terms of how the trial progressed, the manner in which it was conducted, the initial police investigation and the fact that we feel she did not receive a fair trial. The fight for her innocence will go on regardless.”
