Deans Court helps to fund Regimental Colours Restoration Project
NADFAS conservation volunteers from Salmesbury were supported in their efforts to restore the regimental colours of a number of the historic Lancashire regiments at Fulwood barracks by a contribution from Deans Court Chambers. The colours were re-hung in St Martin’s Chapel at Blackburn Cathedral in time for the Somme Memorial Service on 6th July. This was the 98th annual service to remember the men of the East Lancs Regiment who gave their lives in great numbers on first day of the Somme offensive in the First World War. The service was attended by the Colonel of the Duke of Lanacaster’s Regiment, members of the Regimental Association, mayors and dignitaries from surrounding towns from where the soldiers came. Michael Hayton QC and Joseph Hart attended the service on behalf of Deans Court Chambers.
