David Eccles successfully defends The Christie Hospital in respect of bullying accusations
David Eccles was instructed by Mike McKenna of Hill Dickinson LLP to represent the Christie Hospital Manchester, the world renowned cancer hospital, in a claim brought against it by its former Associate Director of Human Resources, Tracy Boylin. Ms Boylin alleged that she had been bullied and harassed and caused stress at work to the extent that she had developed a psychiatric injury which caused her to be unable to continue at work, have a long absence from work and to have grave difficulties working again. Damages well in excess of £1m were sought. After a six day High Court Trial in Liverpool, Mr. Justice Kenneth Parker found in favour of the Defendant and Ms. Boylin’s claim failed in its entirety.
