David Boyle addresses Northumbria University Symposium on Concurrent Evidence
Northumbria University’s recent symposium on Concurrent Evidence was an invitation only event with a variety of speakers and attendees from both the UK and Australia, including Professor Rachael Mulheron (Chair of the CJC Civil Litigation Committee), HHJ David Grant (TCC Birmingham), David Locke (Hill Dickinson LLP), Billy Joss (Senior Valuer to the Rent Tribunal, Northern Ireland), Professor Tony Ward, Professor Gary Edmond and Ann Ferguson. David, whose first book, On Experts, was published in 2016, was the only barrister invited, and delivered a paper on the Range of Opinion, identifying the specific failings of experts early in the process and the need to remedy those issues either in the initial reports, the joint reports or, as necessary, in the hot tub at trial.
