Mary O’Rourke QC & Rosalind Scott Bell, instructed by Leigh Day in London, are acting Pro Bono on a high profile Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal High Court appeal.
A former junior solicitor, Claire Matthews, was struck off the Roll & barred from the profession by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, after mistakenly leaving a briefcase containing case documents on a train and lying about it. She is appealing against the decision.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by Ms Matthews to cover the risks in the event of an adverse costs order. Any surplus will be donated to LawCare, which promotes good mental health and wellbeing for the legal profession.
