Jacob Dyer successfully prosecuted the remaining defendant charged in Operation Nightfall, an investigation by the NW Regional Organised Crime Unit into the illegal conversion and transportation of firearms from Rawtenstall to organised crime gangs in Sheffield. Paul McDonald was convicted of conspiracy to convert and to possess firearms after a two week trial at Preston Crown Court. All three defendants are to be sentenced later in the year.
