“Inheritance Claim” phishing scam email
Deans Court have recently become aware of a target spear phishing scam email that has been sent to unknown recipients.
Please be assured that emails you may have received have not been sent from Deans Court Chambers or the parties mentioned in the email.
The email is headed "Inheritance Claim." and text from the body of the email reads:
Hello,
This is our second notification to you. You have been listed as beneficiary of our late client's Will. This requires that you be registered with this firm to allow all contents in the Will and Last Testaments of our deceased client be processed in your name. Note that the Will can only be executed in your favour, AFTER you show
willingness to accept the inheritance.
The first step will be to provide all necessary information including contact details and scanned identification for registration of the case with our British courts.
I await your prompt and detailed response.
Thank you very much.
