Our sponsored athlete Laura Deas has won a Bronze Medal at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea

Our sponsored athlete Laura Deas, daughter of Deans Court Family Team member Susan Deas, has won a Bronze Medal at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Her best friend, Lizzy Yarnold, also won the Gold Medal and it is the first time in Winter Olympic history that TeamGB has had two athletes on the same podium.

Laura came into skeleton through the UK Sport talent programme Girls4Gold. She had been eventing professionally prior to her skeleton selection and had also excelled at tetrathlon, captaining Wales in international competitions. She had also played competitive netball and represented North Wales at hockey.

Laura ended the 2016/17 season ranked No6 in the World Cup standings

We would like to congratulate her on this great achievement.
