Initiatives
Deans Court Chambers is proud to have embarked on a number of initiatives which provide a greater awareness of the profession to all, promoting access to the profession and in that way helping to shape the barristers of our future. Members also give their time as volunteers.
Example of these are:
- Working with the Black Solicitors’ Network
- Assisting and promoting Advocate, formerly the Pro Bono Unit (Pro Bono Chambers of the Year 2022)
- Sponsoring local schools and universities
- Judging and coaching for moots and debates
- Supporting the 'Bridging the Bar' initiative to promote a more diverse profession
- Chairing and membership of various committees at the Inns of Court (e.g. social mobility committee chair and EDI committee membership)
- Social Mobility Foundation
- Helping fellow professionals to raise standards in various professions through training and supporting events.
- Mentoring through various alumni networks
- Volunteering with inspiring the future (speaking about the Bar at state schools)
- Manchester Young Solicitors Group (MYSG)
