- Matthew Gibbons
Matt Gibbons has worked for Deans Court since 1995 and was appointed to the position of Senior Clerk in 2002.
Previously he worked for Barclays Bank and attained the ACIB professional qualification. This background provided excellent training in many important aspects of client care, management and business development.
He is a committee member of the Institute of Barristers Clerks and has regularly provided training to clerks at the annual conferences. In 2010 he became the 1st clerk from Manchester to chair the annual conference at the Bridgewater hall, Manchester. Over 150 attended and included such distinguished speakers as Sir Ernest Ryder QC, who was the Presiding Judge in Manchester and since has been appointed as a Lord Justice of Appeal, and on 2nd October 2015 appointed as the Senior President of the Tribunals; Baroness Ruth Deech, who was the Head of the Bar Standards Board; and Nicholas Green QC who was the Chairman of the Bar.
He has also assisted with training for pupil supervisors on Circuit and training to the Manchester Trainee Solicitors Group (MTSG).
He is responsible for the management and promotion of Chambers and works closely with all members and staff in this regard. He welcomes feedback regarding all aspects of service and prides himself on taking a pro active approach to assisting clients.
In his spare time he enjoys sports particularly football, trying to keep fit, cycling and socialising.
