Mental Health Law

The team specialize in work under the Mental Health Act 1983 representing parties within the First Tier Tribunal (Health, Education and Social Care Chamber) Mental Health and on appeal to the Upper Tribunal.

The team have particular expertise in cases dealing with Guardianship, Conditional Discharge and the role and function of Nearest Relative.

The team are also experienced in handling deprivation of liberty arguments within the Mental Health Review Tribunal arena and managing the cross over between the Mental Health Act 1983 and different jurisdictions such as the Court of Protection and Judicial Review.
