Profile

Toby is a family law practitioner, who specialises in both public and private children’s law.

Toby represents local authorities, lay parties and children (either through their guardians or directly on behalf of competent children) at all stages of proceedings.

Toby has experience of cases which have involved issues of emotional and physical neglect, domestic abuse, fabricated or induced illness and non-accidental injury. He has worked alongside intermediaries, advocates and on behalf of the Official Solicitor.

Toby advises local authorities in the pre-proceedings process and regularly accepts instructions to draft threshold documents, schedules of findings and can provide advice in writing or by telephone.

In addition to cases brought under the Children Act 1989, Toby represents parties in financial remedy proceedings at FDA, FDR and through to contested final hearings.

Before being called to the bar, Toby worked as a digital advisor for a global luxury brand and later as an assistant at a magic circle law firm, where he drafted non-disclosure agreements for M&A clients.
