Katie accepted tenancy in September 2024 after completing a highly successful pupillage under the supervision of Joanna Moody. She has gone on to have a practice of mixed public and private children work.

Before beginning pupillage, Katie worked as a paralegal in Court of Protection Property and Affairs at two large Manchester firms. She has also volunteered with charities that have assisted with evacuations following the 2021 Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and with workshops focused on helping vulnerable women.

Private Children

Katie has represented both applicants and respondents in private children cases, in addition to representing the child. She has represented clients at all stages of proceedings, including case management, finding of fact hearings, and contested final hearings. She is regularly instructed to deal with issues relating to child arrangements, prohibited steps orders, specific issue orders, and non-molestation orders. She has experience dealing with complex matters such as jurisdictional issues within the UK. 

Public Children

Katie has been instructed to represent Local Authorities, respondent parents, and the child at all stages of public proceedings. She has experience representing clients in contested final hearings and in cases involving issues such as drug and alcohol misuse, neglect, mental health concerns, and domestic abuse.
