Chris is an employment and discrimination law specialist. He has practiced almost exclusively in this area since being called to the Bar. He has experience in the full spectrum of employment claims including disability discrimination, victimisation, harassment, unfair and constructive dismissal, whistleblowing, sex, age, religious and political belief discrimination, TUPE and trade union detriment. Chris has been instructed in complex equal pay, Agnew and Harpur Trust holiday pay claims, and career-ending loss cases. Chris can be instructed for employment-related matters in the Employment Tribunals across England and Scotland, the EAT, High Court and Court of Appeal. Chris accepts instructions for judicial mediation. He is fully accredited to accept direct access instructions from individuals and companies.

  • Employment

    Successful claim for wrongful and unfair dismissal. Claimant with significant service was dismissed after allegation he did not monitor or implement fire safety recommendations. Tribunal accepted argument that the Respondent could not delegate responsibility as 'responsible person' under fire safety legislation (Bristol ET, June 2026).

    Successful age discrimination claim against financial lending institution. Claimant passed over for position for younger applicant (London Central, June 2026)

  • Employment

    £62,000 award for unlawful deduction of wages claim involving commission clawback from notice pay (London Central, July 2026)

  • Employment

    Representing multinational marine engineering and cruise line refitting company. Successfully persuaded Tribunal that it had no territorial jurisdiction to hear 7 claims by peripatetic employee/mariner based in Poland and Germany. Respondent avoided 2-week hearing (April 2026).

    £31,000 TUPE award after 3-day hearing for TUPE ‘no man’s land’ case against transferee (Jan 2026)
