Chris is an employment and discrimination law specialist. He has practiced almost exclusively in this area since being called to the Bar. He has experience in the full spectrum of employment claims including disability discrimination, victimisation, harassment, unfair and constructive dismissal, whistleblowing, sex, age, religious and political belief discrimination, TUPE and trade union detriment. Chris has been instructed in complex equal pay, Agnew and Harpur Trust holiday pay claims, and career-ending loss cases. Chris can be instructed for employment-related matters in the Employment Tribunals across England and Scotland, the EAT, High Court and Court of Appeal. Chris accepts instructions for judicial mediation. He is fully accredited to accept direct access instructions from individuals and companies.

Successful claim for wrongful and unfair dismissal. Claimant with significant service was dismissed after allegation he did not monitor or implement fire safety recommendations. Tribunal accepted argument that the Respondent could not delegate responsibility as 'responsible person' under fire safety legislation (Bristol ET, June 2026).
