Molly accepted tenancy in September 2022 after completing a highly successful pupillage under the supervision of Kate Akerman. She is conscientious, pragmatic, and versatile in her approach and prides herself on delivering sound and realistic advice to her clients.

Before joining Chambers, she volunteered as a Mentor for Debate Mate, an international educational charity focused on improving social mobility by teaching key employability skills through after-school debate programmes. Additionally, she volunteered with the Citizens Advice Bureau, student legal advice clinics, the Yorkshire Tribunal Advocacy Project and Street Law. Her commitment to access to social justice remains strong as she undertakes pro bono cases alongside her practice.

Children (Public Law)

Molly predominantly represents children through their Guardians, parents and interveners in complex public law matters. She has experience in non-accidental injuries, having acted as both sole and junior counsel. Her practice regularly encompasses serious issues such as chronic neglect, sexual and physical abuse, organised crime and cases involving carers with mental health and substance abuse challenges. She regularly appears in contested final hearings, particularly in cases where the local authority’s final care plan is adoption.

She is frequently instructed by local authorities and Children’s Guardians in placement and adoption proceedings. This includes applications to revoke placement orders and contested adoption orders, where her work covers advising at conferences, drafting position statements and preparing skeleton arguments.

Children (Private Law)

Molly represents applicants, respondents, and Guardians across the full range of Section 8 orders and throughout all stages of private law proceedings. She is routinely instructed in fact-finding and contested final hearings and is well-equipped to manage cases involving domestic abuse allegations of the utmost severity.

Her experience has extended to cases concerning internal relocations, intractable contact disputes, applications for a change in residence and Enforcement Orders.

Injunctions

Molly has appeared in contested hearings for Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders, and she has recently delivered seminars on Domestic Abuse Protection Orders.
