Adam is an experienced Criminal law specialist who has defended or prosecuted a wide range of cases including murder, serious sexual offences, serious violence, firearm offences, conspiracies to supply large amounts of Class A drugs and fraud.
Adam’s has significant experience of preparing large, serious and multi-handed cases, including advising on the preparation of defence and prosecution cases, drafting schedules and admissions and undertaking Crown Court and Court of Appeal advocacy.
He has been involved in many cases involving covert evidence, expert witnesses and complex financial and technical documentation.

R v AE
Crime
Prosecution of a Climbing instructor charged with sexual offences against children.
The case involved four young complainants. Bad character evidence was also heard from three young witnesses who had previously given evidence at trial that resulted in an acquittal. After a twelve day trial the defendant was convicted and sentenced to 5 years 5 months imprisonment.

R v ZA and Ors
Crime
Prosecution of a group who had kidnapped a man from the street and assaulted him. The case required expert evidence to be called in relation to cell siting. After a 9 day trial all defendants were convicted and were amongst the first to be sentenced under the new sentencing guideline.

Crime
Defended a young man of good character charged with sexual assault on a train.
The alleged incident was captured on CCTV. After trial the defendant was acquitted.

Inquest touching upon the death of BJ (2025)
Inquest
Acting on behalf of the Council.
Suicide of a man who had been accused of violence against a child.
Although Police and Social services intervention had been concluded with no action or further involvement there was an issue as to the extent failure to provide written confirmation of this had contributed to his mental state at the time of his death.

Inquest touching upon the death of AR and CJ (2025)
Inquest
Acting on behalf of the family in an Article 2 compliant inquest into the death by drowning of a care worker and resident who suffered from severe autism.
The means by which the deceased entered a canal were unknown.
The Inquest considered issues relating to the level of training of staff members and also systematic issues relating to risk assessments for the specified activity being undertaken.

R v F and Others (Operation Legend) 2017 – 2019
Crime
Prosecuting alone twelve Defendants for Conspiracy to Supply multi-kilogram quantities of Cocaine (in excess of 20 kilograms, with a ‘street value of £2.5 million) throughout the North of England. At trial one of the Defendants was represented by Queen’s Counsel. The Defendants used a number of novel and emerging technologies, such as ‘Encro’ phones and multiple SIM cards, in an attempt to conceal their criminality. The case involved a substantial amount of expert evidence, cell site evidence, and telecommunications data (instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service – North West Complex Casework Unit).

R v M (Operation Nile) 2019
Crime
Instructed to defend one of 16 defendants charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs in typical ‘county lines’ operation.

R v S (Operation Granta) 2018 – 2019
Crime
Instructed to prosecute a defendant involved in a conspiracy to produce and supply large volumes of ‘Spice’ (in excess of 500 kilograms, with a ‘street’ value of £5 million). The defendant absconded mid-trial and is currently the subject of an European Arrest Warrant.

Sexual Offences
Instructed to prosecute a man in his 70s charged with indecently assaulting three of his six sisters-in-law in excess of 50 years ago and more recently his son’s girlfriend.

Instructed to defend a man charged with the attempted murder of his 3 year old child.

Instructed as Junior counsel in a murder trial.

R. v. RT and SW . (Operation Bugler) (2017)
Crime
Instructed to prosecute two Defendants involved in making fraudulent claims VAT refunds and money laundering. It was estimated that the value of RT’s fraudulent activities exceeded £5 million. (instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service – Specialist Fraud Division).

Instructed as Junior Counsel to prosecute approximately 20 defendants in a series of trials in connection with a large number of overlapping drugs conspiracies.

Instructed to prosecute a case of marital rape. This case involved issues of forced marriage cultural expectations.
