Deans Court Chambers’ Business Crime and Regulatory Crime Team, both leading and junior counsel, have been involved in both prosecutions brought under the Corporate Manslaughter Act. As such the team is able to offer considerable insight and knowledge of such cases alongside our traditional high standards of court representation.
Corporate Manslaughter has been at the forefront of regulatory lawyers’ minds for several years.
Members of Deans Court Chambers' Business Crime and Regulatory Team were regularly involved in the provision of seminars to both professional and lay clients, providing opinion about the law as it was predicted to be enacted, and subsequently into the effect of the Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act once it came into force.
Now that prosecutions have been brought under the legislation, it is no surprise that the team has been involved in both the Geotech and Lion Steel cases.
The basis upon which we undertake this work is set out in our Terms for Criminal Work.
