Mini Pupillage Day 2017
Deans Court Chambers now welcomes applications for its annual mini-pupillage day, to take place this year on 14th October.
Successful candidates will undertake various written and oral exercises in a workshop environment with the opportunity for feedback from established practitioners and the chance to discuss careers at the Bar.
In our experience this event is heavily oversubscribed and given the itinerary of the day places are strictly limited. The aim of the day is to give those who are yet to undertake any form of professional training a unique insight into the practicalities of the job as well as life at the Bar in general. In all of those circumstances regrettably we will only consider applications from candidates who have at least commenced a first year of undergraduate study but have not yet started a BPTC.
Applicants are expected to show similar potential to candidates for full pupillage and accordingly applicants with less than AAA at A-level (or equivalent) are unlikely to be considered save in exceptional circumstances.
Applications should be made electronically by sending a curriculum vitae (‘CV’) in Word or PDF form only to Jade Andrews at firstname.lastname@example.org. The CV should be accompanied by a covering letter of no more than 100 words explaining why the mini-pupillage committee should select the applicant. In the unlikely event that an applicant is unable to apply electronically, a written application may be addressed to Jade Andrews at Deans Court Chambers, 24 St John Street, Manchester M3 4DF.
Given the anticipated volume of applications the mini-pupillage committee will not consider any application received in Chambers after 1st September 2017.
